Dunlop will ride BMW at this year's TT

Having sensationally departed the Milwaukee Yamaha team in the middle of TT practice week, Michael Dunlop now faces a race against time for his new BMW-machinery to be ready for this evening’s third practice session.

Bike Social understand that Buildbase BMW boss Steve Hicken is currently waiting for a ferry to the island with the BMW S 1000 RRs Dunlop will now ride.

They're waiting at Heysham Docks for the 14:00 ferry, which will get them to the Island just after 17:30 with practice scheduled to start at 18:20 and roads closing at 1800.

It is understood that the bikes have been prepped to a similar spec as the S 1000 RR Dunlop rode to three TT victories last season, however that’s not to say the bikes will not require work with just two practice sessions before Saturday’s RST Superbike race.

Speaking to Bike Social this morning, a representative from Buildbase BMW said: “We are waiting for the ferry with the bikes now, it will be close for tonight’s session.”
