The weather has not been on side so far at this year’s Isle of Man TT. High winds forced the postponement of the RST Superbike race and have now led to the cancellation of the entire day’s schedule.
The winds were forecast to die down mid-afternoon and despite conditions improving in Douglas, up on the mountain the wind persisted meaning an emergency helicopter would be unable to land in the event of an emergency.
With safety paramount, Race Director Gary Thompson made the difficult call to cancel the day’s action – rejigging the already revised schedule to run the Superbike race on Sunday and the first Sidecar race, which was schedule to go this afternoon, now moving to Monday.
The Superstock race will now take place Monday morning with the first supersport race taking place later in the evening.
