PATA Honda has become the first World Superbike team to reveal their 2014 livery ahead of travelling to Australia for the first round of the series in less than a month’s time.
The livery boasts no significant changes to the 2013 bike, with the most prominent sponsors remaining as PATA chips, Barracuda and Castrol Power 1.
After a tough season last year, the PATA Honda boys will be looking to enjoy more success and less injury in the season ahead. Leon Haslam suffered a nasty break to his leg in practice at Assen last year, which effectively ruled him out of serious contention for the remainder of the season despite heroic efforts to return to track.
Taking just four podiums including one win at Silverstone in what would become his joint worst superbike season, Jonathan Rea didn’t have much luck either. He fell on oil left by Federico Sandi’s stricken Kawasaki at Nurburgring after marshals failed to wave oil flags. Suffering a broken leg, Rea missed the remainder of the season.
PATA Honda also unveiled the CBR600rr’s on which Michael van der Mark and Lorenzo Zanetti will compete in the World Supersport championship.
