BikeSocial Web Editor. Content man, reviewer, commissioner, road tester, video presenter, interviewer and race fan. First ride was a 1979 Honda ST70. Not too shabby on track, loves a sports bike, worries about helmet hair, occasionally plays golf and squash but enjoys being a father to a 6-year-old the most.
Ahead of the 2021 Bennetts British Superbike season, BikeSocial’s intrepid adventurers (Simon Hargreaves and I) set off to visit all eight circuits in one road trip. From my house in Cambridgeshire, a 1200-mile clockwise route taking in five track on the first day by getting from A-to-B as quickly as possible allowed us to peruse the superb scenery and B-roads as we headed north and over the border on day two before calling up our final track and heading for home on the third day.
Our steads for the trip would be our long-term loan bikes. Simon on his 2021 Suzuki Hayabusa while I would have the uber-versatile 2021 Ducati Multistrada V4S, complete with Adaptive cruise control (for the motorway stretches), heated seat and grips (for the chilly bits) and 170bhp (for the, er, lols).
Our target was to capture the journey via a GoPro on each bike/rider plus keeping in contact with each via Cardo (our sponsor) while setting up a brief interview with a local BSB rider at each circuit.
The schedule looked like this:
DAY ONE
DAY TWO
DAY THREE
And if you have 1h 27m spare then here's the evidence. Grab a cuppa, a pack of biscuits and enjoy the ride:
