Victory's electric TT bike for the road!

Author: Oli Rushby Posted: 29 Jul 2015

Victory Motorcycles has today lifted the covers off a Street version of the bike that Lee Johnston and Guy Martin rode to third and fourth in this years TT Zero race.

Named the Empulse TT, the bike is the first all-electric addition to Victorys line-up since the Polaris Group bought the assets of Brammo earlier this year.

The Empulse TT features a sports bike-style aluminium beam-frame and adjustable suspension. Its capable of speeds in excess of 100mph and has a range of 60mph when ridden in a typical manner. With throttle control and restraint, the range increases to 100 miles.

Victory claim the Empulse TT, which shares a number of components with the original Brammo Empulse R, has the fastest charging battery on the market. From empty, a full charge will take just 3.9 hours using a Stage 2 charger, which is available as an accessory utilising a standard 240V outlet.

The Empulse TT also features Brammos six-speed gearbox. As this isnt something all competitive electric bikes have, Victory claim this gives off a significantly sportier feel.

There are two riding modes, ECO and SPORT, which are fairly self explanatory. In Sport mode, 20% more battery power is released to the motor resulting in better acceleration.

The bike will go on sale in the U.S. later this year, with global demand then being assessed before a sales plan is announced for Europe.
