Guintoli will run the number 1 plate in 2015

The PATA Honda Team unveiled their livery for the 2015 Superbike World Championship today at the International Motorcycle Expo in Verona.

While the colours remain largely unchanged, the team boasts an entirely new line-up for the season ahead having signed the reigning World Superbike and Supersport champions, Sylvain Guintoli and Michael van der Mark.

Having beaten Tom Sykes to the 2014 World Championship in Qatar last November, Guintoli will run the number 1 plate this season. Switching from Aprilia to Honda, he is the first reigning World Champion to defend his title with another manufacturer since Carl Fogarty left Ducati for Honda after winning the title in 1995.

van der Mark will run the number 60

van der Mark steps up from the World Supersport Championship, which he won comfortably in 2014. Despite his young years, the Dutchman has plenty of experience of Honda’s CBR1000RR Fireblade after taking consecutive victories in the 2013 and 2014 editions of the prestigious Suzuka 8hr.

The first round of the 2015 Superbike World Championship gets underway in just under a month’s time at Phillip Island, Australia.
