Michael Dunlop was the fastest man on the Isle of Man TT course this evening on his Supersport machine. With parts of the track quite wet after early rainfall, it was decided that the Superbikes wouldn’t be permitted to practice this evening, meaning no practice for two nights running for the 1000cc categories.
Dunlop, who announced he’d sensationally switch tyre manufacturer earlier today, lapped at an average speed of 124.530mph on his MD Racing CBR600RR ahead of Dean Harrison on the Yamaha. The elder of the Dunlop brothers, William, set the fourth third fastest time on his Tyco Suzuki with Bruce Anstey and Josh Brookes rounding out the top five.
In the lightweight category, the KMR Kawasakis of Keith Amor and Ryan Farquhar lead the way, Amor setting a fastest lap of 116.2mph. Jamie Hamilton rounded out the top three.
Positive weather forecasts hold hope for Friday’s final practice sessions ahead of Saturday’s Dainese Superbike race. The full race schedule can be found here.
