Think buying a brand-new Harley means spending well over five figures? Think again. Although the entry-level’ 975cc V-twin Nightster, which is the junior version of the £1250 Sportster, normally starts at over £13,000, significant dealer discounts can be had which brings the price right down to under £10K – as is the case here. Official Harley dealers, Sycamore of Wolverhampton, for example, is currently offering this brand new, unregistered, 0-mile example of the American cruiser in gleaming red with a whopping discount of £3296 with the result taking its asking price down from the usual £13,295 to now be available for just £9999

Get £2815 off this BMW R 1300 GS Adventure
If American cruisers don’t take your fancy, even with big discounts, how about a brand-new example of one of the best and most popular models of recent years – that’s also again being offered with a big dealer discount? BMW’s big boxer ‘GS’ adventure bike has long been a British best seller with the big tanked ‘Adventure’ version often more popular still. The latest incarnation is the R 1300 GS Adventure and we’ve found this example with an almost £3000 discount. It’s on sale at John Clark of Tayside, who are offering a discount of £2815 so taking its asking price down from the usual £22,815 to now be available for just £20,000

Get £1400 off this Suzuki GSX-S1000GT
Here’s another great all-rounder but also one that was already impressive value and now, thanks to a big dealer discount, is even more of a bargain. Suzuki’s GSX-S1000GT is the sports-tourer version of its 150bhp GSX-S1000 super naked and is a great rival to Kawasaki’s Ninja 1000SX. Already pretty good value at £12,899, this example is even more of a steal. It’s being offered by GT Motorcycles in Plymouth, is zero-mile, brand new, unregistered comes in gleaming red and benefits from an extra discount of £1400 so taking it down now to just £11,499

Save £1349 on this Yamaha XSR900GP
While, finally for this week, how about this for a great example of one of the most talked about bikes of 2024 and one that now is being offered with a substantial dealer discount? Yamaha’s XSR900GP is a great, retro café racer based on the MT-09 triple and with saucy styling inspired by Yamaha’s YZR500 GP racers of the ‘80s and ‘90s. A huge hit, this brand new, grey example is also sure to be quickly snapped up due to being offered by Southampton dealer Crescent Motorcycles with a significant £1349 discount taking its price down to just £11,455.

There’s little doubt that one of the most exciting and sophisticated sports-tourers currently around is Kawasaki’s supercharged Ninja H2 SX but with prices well over £20K it’s also been subject to major dealer discounting both new and used – as is the case here. Used bike specialists Superbike Factory, for example, is currently offering this virtually as-new example with a whopping £1900 off its previous price of £13,790. It’s a 21-plate example that’s covered just 4362 miles, is in excellent condition, comes with a free, 12-moth extended warranty and the resulting price of £11,890 makes you wonder why anyone would buy one new.

Get this Ducati Panigale V2 with £1100 off
How about this for another great discounted exotic used bike that’s often out of most people’s reach when new. Ducati’s Panigale V2 is a stupendous superbike with all the V-twin character the Italian marque is known for. Better still, this recent used example, already just £11,590, is currently being offered by used bike specialists Superbike Factory with a further discount of £1100. In September we return to Donington Park for round eight of the 2025 Bennetts BSB championship. A limited number of Bennetts customers and BikeSocial members will be able to ride the GP circuit under controlled conditions behind a safety car on Friday 5 September.

Proof that it’s not just the perhaps more ‘left field’ or obscure motorcycle brands, such as Indian, which are sometimes offered with big dealer discounts – mainstream ones like the ultra-desirable Ducati occasionally are, too. While, finally for this week, how about this for a great example of what seems like a smaller discount, but in percentage terms is every bit as significant?
