Stoner wins again

Posted: 16 May 2011

Casey Stoner has won his second race of the 2011 MotoGP series in France on Sunday. The Australian was on fighting form at Le Mans all weekend – with team-mate Dani Pedrosa the only other rider to put up a challenge for the first half of the 28-lap race.

However, Repsol Honda rider Pedrosa found himself caught up with San Carlo Honda Gresini’s Marco Simoncelli on lap 18 and was forced into the gravel. Simoncelli was awarded a ride-through penalty as a result of his actions.

Stoner crossed the line an impressive 14 seconds ahead of second-placed Andrea Dovizioso, with seven times MotoGP World Champion Valentino Rossi in third.
