Carl Fogarty won this year's 'I'm a celebrity'

Carl ‘Foggy’ Fogarty returned to winning ways this evening as he was crowned winner of this year’s ITV’s “I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here”.

The World Superbike legend endured three weeks of rough living and rationed food in the Australian outback before beating former X-Factor contestant Jake Quickenden and TV presenter Melanie Sykes to the coveted jungle crown.

Fogarty, famous for being the most successful Superbike racer in history, also beat celebrities such as rapper Tinchy Stryder, footballer Jimmy Bullard and well-known former MP Edwina Currie to become the 14th champion of the ITV reality series.

Foggy rules for the first time in 15 years

In the final episode this evening, Foggy was challenged to eat various gruesome dishes including live cockroaches, ostrich anus and a camel’s penis. He completed the challenge winning all of the five 'stars' available.

“It’s unbelievable, I think it’s all just a dream”, Fogarty said after leaving the jungle. “Whatever is coming out of my mouth now is all just crap! I have to thank everyone at home for voting. I can’t believe this, back on top after 15 years. This is the best thing to have ever happened to me.

“I never really appreciated it when I was racing, you just got wrapped up in the moment but now, with a bit of maturity, you get time to think about things and I never expected this. It’s mental, thanks to everybody.”
