New colours, new deals for 2021 Honda Africa Twin

Honda’s Africa Twin gets colour changes for 2021 plus new finance deals with payments starting as low as £28 per month

Honda’s Africa Twin got a major revamp 12 months ago so there’s little surprise that the 2021 changes are limited to colour schemes – however, the firm is also promoting new finance deals that can bring monthly payments in at less than £28.

Starting with the colours, Honda has decided to offer the ‘Pearl Glare White Tricolour’ option that was previously only available on the higher-spec Africa Twin Adventure Sports on the base CRF1100L Africa Twin, alongside the existing Grand Prix Red and Matte Ballistic Black options. Since more than 70% of Adventure Sports buyers have opted for the white, red and blue ‘Tricolour’ scheme Honda’s wisely decided that it will also make the normal Africa Twin more attractive.

Not as attractive as some of the firm’s finance deals on remaining 2020-spec Africa Twins might prove to be, though. Honda’s announced deals on all versions of the Africa Twin with 4.9% APR, deposit contributions of up to £1000 and the option of larger-the-normal initial deposits to bring down monthly costs. To achieve the sub-£28 monthly fee, you’d need to opt for the base 2020 Africa Twin, retailing at £13,049, and thrown down a £5524.50 deposit. Honda will then add a £1000 deposit contribution, bringing the down-payment to 50% of the bike’s list price. That’s followed by 11 monthly payments of just £27.67, and a final balloon payment of £6524.50. Sure, that means the monthly payments are only covering interest, as the deposit and balloon payment add up to the bike’s list price, but you’re still getting £1000 of the cost paid by Honda.

The rest of the deals are similar, running over 12 months and with identical 50% deposits and 50% final payments, although the level of deposit contribution from Honda changes depending on which version you buy. The Adventure Sports only gets a £500 contribution while Honda won’t put any contribution into purchases of the Adventure Sports ES (electronic suspension) model. Right at the highest end of the range, the Adventure Sports ES DCT Plus, listing at £20,149, needs a £10,074 deposit, 11 payments of £42.73 and then a final payment of another £10,074.
