Get on track with BMW

If you own a BMW bike and fancy a track day then hear this. BMW Motorrad UK have joined forces with well established track day organisers, Focused Events, to offer Owners Track Days in the UK and Portugal as well as a new Track Academy.

Silverstone, Donington Park and Portimao will play host to track-based events suitable for all abilities with a focus firmly on improving riding skills and confidence…oh, and selling more BMWs of course.

BMW Owners Track Days (£159)

• 3^rd August – Silverstone
• 20^th September – Donington Park

So long as your BMW is track-appropriate then you’ll be good to go. If not, then BMW have track-prepped S1000RRs available to hire. The TAS Racing Tyco BMW British Superbike Team will have their hospitality unit on site with a selection of riders from this years Tyco line-up, Christian Iddon, Michael Laverty, Ian Hutchinson and Josh Elliot, available to instruct.

Maria Costello MBE, road racer and former fastest woman around the Isle of Man TT circuit, will host a women-only group at each of the above events.

VIP European Track Day (£1150)

• 12-13^th November – Portimao, Portugal

Have your bike and gear transported to the circuit and enjoy two days of riding plus flights, transfers and accommodation at the striking World Superbike circuit. The TAS Racing Tyco BMW will once again be on hand to offer instruction and advice.

BMW Track Academy (from £350)  

Donington Park:

• 19^th April
• 3^rd May
• 22^nd June
• 9^th July
• 9^th August

Silverstone:

• 9^th May - GP Circuit
• 19^th June - National Circuit
• 3^rd August - GP Circuit

New for this year, the full day course is open to those over 21 with full UK Motorcycle Licences though you don’t need to own a BMW to enjoy this day which and is aimed at developing rider improvement and skill level.

REVIEWED: Bike Social does BMW Track & Training Academy

Two levels are available. Level One has classroom sessions and off-track skill sessions including the BMW F800R CTS fitted with outrigger wheels. The on-track sessions include expert tuition. While Level Two is aimed at more advanced riders with extended one-to-one instruction time and more on-track sessions. This is for BMW bikes only and track-prepared S1000RRs are available to hire (bringing the total price to £599).
