Cal Crutchlow’s CWM LCR Honda team unveiled its livery last night in front of a packed crowd in Central London.
The Lucio Cechinello team, famous for introducing Casey Stoner to MotoGP, presented Crutchlow alongside teammate Jack Miller at an event held with the outfit’s new, British sponsor CWM FX.
Crutchlow ran a CWM liveried bike at last year’s Valencia test but the colours for 2015 couldn’t be more different. The striking white design emblazoned with the title sponsor’s logo marks a new era for Lucio Cechniello, who in the past had signed deals with different sponsors for individual rounds depending on location.
Crutchlow switches to the Honda team after a tough season with Ducati in 2014.
“I made the decision to move to the CWM LCR Honda Team when I sat down with Lucio and Anthony and I saw the passion that everybody involved had,” the Brit explained. “I knew I wanted to get back to the ways of challenging for the podium on a regular basis, fighting to be the best satellite rider and then beating the factory guys as and when we can.
“The passion and drive from the two companies of CWM and LCR will hopefully bring me back to the front. I had a good end to 2014, and I am confident that form will continue into 2015.”
Jack Miller steps up to MotoGP after finishing runner-up in last year’s Moto3 World Championship, a move that many have questioned but the Aussie seems unfazed ahead of his debut season.
”It’s been great since I came into the CWM LCR Honda Team, from the very first test in Valencia and then through the winter period we have been working closely together and it’s all been so positive, we seem to be hitting it off pretty well so far anyway,” he said.
“The Honda is an animal, that’s for sure, but I’m enjoying it more every time I ride it; anyone who watched me in Moto3 will know I love to throw a wheelie, and I love them even more with this bike! I just can’t wait for the season to get started.”
