Cal Crutchlow has today announced that he will remain with LCR Honda for the next two MotoGP seasons.
The British rider currently sits ninth in the championship with the Lucio Cechniello-run outfit after a somewhat difficult year on Honda’s RC213V, but is confident of things improving for 2016.
The deal is believed to cover the 2016 MotoGP season with an option to extend for 2017.
The announcement came at a BT Sport media event ahead of this weekend’s British Grand Prix.
“I am very happy to continue my relationship with LCR for 2016 and 2017,” said Crutchlow. “We started the season well and I believe we can score some great results in the rest of this year and in the season to come.”
Crutchlow is the second British rider to be confirmed on the MotoGP grid for 2016, he joins Bradley Smith who announced an extension to his Tech 3 contract just yesterday.
