2022 National Superstock Champions Davey Todd and the Milenco by Padgetts Motorcycles Honda team will progress to the Bennetts British Superbike Championship class in 2023, it has been confirmed

Considered one of the UK's most exciting up-and-coming prospects, Todd enjoyed a stellar 2022 campaign with the experienced Milenco by Padgetts Motorcycles outfit as he swept to title glory in the SSTK series and picked up a series of career-best results on the roads too.

Curating a slow burn of a title campaign on the SSTK Honda CBR1000RR-R, Todd only achieved his first win of the season during Round 13 of 18 at Snetterton. However, it would serve to kick-start momentum that would take him to the top of the podium on three further occasions as he overhauled Billy McConnell for the top trophy.

Moreover, the combination of Todd and Padgetts enjoyed a hugely successful roads campaign too, most notably the 27-year old's maiden podium finish on the Isle of Man TT in the Superstock class, plus a fourth-place finish in the Senior TT.

Also a race winner at the Southern 100 and Armoy road races, Todd's packed campaign would yield podiums at the North West 200 and points in the BSB class at the season-ending Brands Hatch round too.

"I am super excited to re-sign with the Milenco by Padgetts Motorcycles Honda team. I've felt right at home there this year and after winning the Superstock Championship and it's an awesome opportunity to get to move up to the Superbike class with the same team and same guys around me.

"I got to experience the Superbike class for the first time at the final round at Brands Hatch this season and we learned a lot as a team, and it definitely got me excited to be there full-time next season. I've just enjoyed my racing so much this year and want to approach 2023 in the same way – I can't wait to get going already!"

Considered one of the UK most esteemed motorcycle racing teams, Milenco by Padgetts Motorcycles has enjoyed extensive success over the decades on both the short circuits and on the road.

However, the 2023 season will see Padgetts make its first BSB class appearance since 2013 when it ran a single Honda for Jakub Smrz, while it enjoyed race-winning success a year earlier with Ian Lowry.

"What can I say other than we are thrilled to be back in Bennetts BSB with our Milenco by Padgetts Motorcycles Honda team," team owner Clive Padgetts commented.

"Everyone who knows our team will understand how much it meant to us to win the Superstock title with Davey this year and now this is a natural progression for us to take on the next challenge together.

"As a team we have been on the BSB grid before and so it feels great to be coming back. We have seen what the Honda Fireblade is capable of in the class, and we know that Davey is a real talent as we have seen in National Superstock and on the roads, so we are really looking forward to getting the season started."

Milenco by Padgetts Motorcycles are the second privateer Honda team to confirm a place on the 2023 BSB grid, joining Danny Kent on the Lovell Kent Racing Fireblade.

The official factory Honda Racing effort will compete with Andrew Irwin and the rider Todd succeeded as SSTK champion, Tom Neave.
