The Halsall Suzuki team and motorcycle insurance broker Bennetts have joined forces for the 2015 British Superbike championship.

The move sees the Bolton-based team re-branded as Bennetts Suzuki with riders Christian Iddon and Josh Waters set to hit the track for the first time in their new livery at this weekend’s first round of the season at Donington Park.

Bennetts has a long association with the British Superbike championship, having sponsored the series between 2005 and 2008 before going on to sponsor a number of the championship’s up and coming riders such as former Moto3 champions Kyle Ryde and Joe Francis.

Martin Halsall’s team first entered the British Superbike championship in 2013, going on to take their first ever podiums with Tommy Bridewell on Kawasaki machinery. After bringing legendary team boss, Jack Valentine on board for 2014, the Halsall Team announced they’d become the official Suzuki team in 2015.

"We're delighted to have Bennetts onboard as a title sponsor for the British Superbike Championship; they bring a wealth of experience with them having been involved in the series for the last decade,” said Halsall. “I see ourselves as an emerging force in British Superbikes with huge ambition to become an established and successful team, and this is recognised by everyone at Bennetts, who share the same ambition. This makes for the start of an exciting and rewarding partnership together and we can't wait to get going."

Vince Chaney, Managing Director at Bennetts added: "This is an exciting time for Bennetts and we are delighted to enter this partnership with the Halsall Suzuki team. The Bennetts name is synonymous with the British Superbike Championship and it was important that we came back to the series with a squad that shares our high standards and big ambitions.

"We’ve known Jack Valentine - Team Manager - for many years and he and Martin Halsall have put together a very good setup. They have ambitious plans for the team and this has been recognised by both us and Suzuki GB, who has appointed them as their official squad. We’re looking forward to a long and successful relationship, working together to turn Bennetts Suzuki into a title challenging team in the coming years."
