A win for Melandri
Marco Melandri has clinched his second World Superbike Championship victory of the 2011 season at Aragon, Spain, after a hard-fought race with Max Biaggi. Despite taking pole position, the Italian succumbed to Biaggi’s pressure as they spent the entirety of the race dicing for the lead.

However, it was Melandri who took the eventual victory – a comfortable 1.2 seconds ahead of his fellow Italian rival Biaggi. Englishman Leon Camier took a respectable third place finish.

Biaggi wins race two
Max Biaggi has won his first 2011 World Superbike race – the second of the day at Aragon. Although the determined Italian rider dominated the race, he did undergo some pressure from race one winner Marco Melandri, who was hungry for a second race win.

However, Italian Melandri had to settle for second, while current championship leader Carlos Checa took the third place on the rostrum after a DNF in race one.
