Cooper beats TT legends at Stars of Darley

Richard Cooper took victory at the Stars of Darley meeting last weekend on board a Buildbase BMW S 1000 RR. The Oxford TAG Triumph British Supersport riders beat star names such as Michael Rutter and John McGuinness to take his third Stars at Darley title.

The Honda TT Legends pairing took the lead at the start of the first race from Cooper in third. By lap four the little man had managed to fight his way past twenty-time Isle of Man TT winner, McGuinness and passed Rutter a lap later. The veteran BSB rider wasn’t to give Cooper an easy time, pushing the BMW right up until the line.

Cooper suffered a poor start in the second race and had to fight his way back up through the field to gain fifth by the end of the second lap, with the race led by Rutter, McGuinness and John Ingram. Cooper continued to fight making up a place each lap, taking the lead on lap six before pulling out a lead strong enough to take the win.
