Ducati’s latest offering, the mid-size Monster 821, is now in UK dealerships. The downsized version of the Monster 1200 is available from £8,795 and in three different colours.
We rode the bike at the press launch in Italy last month and found the noise from the V-Twin Testastretta 11° engine to be particularly aurally pleasing and because it’s lighter than the 1200, it’s also more agile. The 112bhp and 8-level traction control are can be amended through the three riding modes; Sport, Touring or Urban.
It’s been over twenty years since the first Monster and Ducati have seemingly struck gold with this incarnation. Other perks and components included on the newest member of Ducati’s fleet are an innovative adjustable seat height, 3-level ABS, Brembo brakes, suspension by Kabaya (front) and Sachs (rear).
Service intervals of 18,000 miles is an attractive proposition and there’s the added bonus for those with A2 licences of a 35kW restrictor kit.
