The side-burned wild man of road racing is set to race at the newly-named Classic TT races in 2013 on a Molnar Manx Norton.

The new event, previously the Manx Grand Prix, takes on a new format for 2013 and Guy Martin signing to race is one of a host of TT stars set to race at the Classic TT.

Martin, TV star, movie star, truck mechanic and a 13-times TT podium finisher will partner 2006 British 125cc Champion Dan Cooper on 500cc Molnar Manx Norton’s.

Martin is a big fan of Classics. He has previously taken part in classic races both on the Island and at Cadwell Park riding a Suzuki XR75, even when he was told not too by his team.

Cooper is one of the rising stars of the TT, having achieved top 10 finishes during this year’s TT event.

Andy Molnar of Team Molnar Manx said: “We are delighted to have secured the services of Guy Martin who is one of the fastest riders ever around the TT Mountain Circuit. He has all the attributes to make best use of our machinery and together we are aiming to be challenging for victory. Daniel Cooper has shown great potential around the Mountain Course already and coming from a successful 125cc background, we feel he has the riding style required to get the best from our machinery.”

The race takes place on Saturday August 24, 2013.
