One of the effects of the financial turmoil recently at KTM has been the discounting of unsold stock, but another has been delays to upcoming models such as the new KTM 1390 Super Duke GT. All of that has been a ‘double whammy’ on the old– but still excellent – 1290 Super Duke GT, as is the case here. Dealer AMS, for example, has now discounted this brand new, 0-mile, unregistered example of the 170bhp sports-tourer by a whopping £5009 so taking its price down from the usual £18,999 to now be available for a bargain £13,990

Get £4000 off this Ducati Panigale V4 R
High end superbikes can sometimes also benefit from big dealer discounts, too, especially towards the end of the ‘buying season’ – as is the case here. Ducati’s phenomenal Panigale V4 R – which is the full track-orientated, 998cc, ‘homologation special’, 215bhp version of its Panigale V4 superbike, normally has a RRP of an equally whopping £40,174 due to exquisite components and performance. Save £1909 on this Honda NT1100
But it doesn’t have to be expensive, exotic and arguably impractical homologation special superbikes or exotic, premium sports-tourers that are on the receiving end of big dealer discounts, more versatile, day-to-day bikes can be bargains, too – as is the case here. North-east dealer Honda Newcastle, for example, currently has on offer this brand new, 0-mile, 2024, manual-transmission example of Honda’s excellent, Africa Twin-based tourer/all-rounder, the NT1100. Normally £12,799, the dealer’s discount of a full £1909 takes the bike’s asking price down now to a far more affordable and tempting £10,890

Save £1500 on this Kawasaki Ninja 1100 SX SE
While, finally for this week, how about this for proof that it’s not just ‘new old stock’ models that are on the receiving end of big dealer discounts – brand new models can sometimes be, too, as is the case here. Kawasaki’s hugely popular Ninja SX sports tourer grew from 1000 to 1100cc this year and, as a result, is gruntier and better than ever. Best of all, dealer Bill Smith Motorcycles of Chester is currently offering one brand new, unregistered example with a free tour pack of panniers and more for just £13,499 – that’s a saving of a full £1500 over the normal new price of £14,999

Get this Yamaha FZ8 with £1300 off
It’s not just brand new, or recent used bikes that sometimes benefit from big dealer discounts, older, often underrated ones can, too – as is the case here. Used bike specialists Superbike Factory currently have on offer this excellent example of Yamaha’s FZ8 and they’ve just discounted it by nearly 25% The FZ8, if you remember was the last and often underrated model in. Yamaha’s FZ four-cylinder family before it switched to the MT-09 triple. It’s again on offer at used bike specialists Superbike Factory and this time is a virtually mint example of BMW’s brilliant 160bhp roadster version of its S1000RR superbike, the S1000R. The Cold Skin Baselayer was subject to Q-max testing at the Kaken Test Centre in Japan – this examination offers up an analysis of how cool the surface of the Cold Skin fabric is. The higher the Q-max value, the cooler the fabric.
