Rider of the weekend: Jorge Lorenzo
Why? Pure determination, extreme bravery… and all with a big smile!
This weekend, Jorge Lorenzo suffered a huge high side during the free practice session, and emerged from the medical centre battered and bruised.
However, his sheer determination to complete Sunday’s race was evident when he led the 32-lap race until lap 26, when Stoner took the lead.
Lorenzo settled for a comfortable second place finish and picked up valuable points giving him second place overall in the championship.
After pulling into the winners’ enclosure, he was lifted from his bike and answered questions from the various media… all with a smile on his face!
