Aprilia Tuono Fighter

WE SAY:

If you’re not a registration plate snob i.e. not worried what year or how Aprilia Tuono Fighterold a bike is, then this Aprilia Tuono Fighter fulfils the role of a cheap super naked roadster very, very nicely. Imagine an Aprilia RSV1000 sports bike sans lower fairing and with higher (read comfortable) handlebars. This is what the Tuono is. In other words it’s a fast, punchy, destroyer of country roads. It’s also a demon trackday tool. And because there is the luxury of a decent-sized cockpit fairing and screen, the M6/M5/A1 can also be despatched very quickly without too much strain on the neck and shoulders.

To be honest, there’s not a great deal to worry about with this model. Yes, it isn’t as beautiful as, say, Triumph’s Speed Triple, and the latest Aprilia V4 RSV4 is quicker off the mark and has a WSBK-winning frame. But what does it matter when this Tuono’s V-twin can still cut the mustard when riding with friends? Ok, so the covering paint and plating on some components can go a little flaky, but this is more to do with owner neglect.

In this case the bike looks mint for the money and year. A big bike with decent big bike performance but yours for a reasonable £2,950.

THE AD SAYS:

2003 (03 reg), 998cc, 10,000 miles, Charcoal

Six months tax. One year MoT. Full main dealer history. In great condition with genuine low mileage. This high spec streetfighter is fast and immense fun. Ride it and try to get rid of the smile. Getting older (returner) and just don't get out on it enough – it’s too good to sit in the garage. Only owner from new. £2,950. 01275858778 or 07803597340
