An update on our response to COVID-19, how we're helping customers and a service update

Despite the announcement from the Government on Monday January 4 regarding new lockdown restrictions in England beginning from Tuesday January 5, we are operating our usual opening hours of 8am to 8pm, Monday to Friday, Saturday 9am to 5pm and Sunday 10am to 4pm.

COVID-19 Financial Concerns

I am in temporary financial difficulty as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, what can you do to support me?

If you're experiencing financial difficulty as a result of COVID-19, we have some options we can explore that may help you during this difficult time, such as:

  • Reassessing your risk profile which may result in a premium reduction
  • Reassessing your demands and needs to ensure your product is still suitable
  • Reviewing payment plans available
  • Payment deferrals

Volunteering cover

Any Bennetts motorcycle insurance customer using their bikes to support local communities are now automatically covered.

If you are volunteering for any of the following, you do not need to notify us, your insurance cover will still be valid.

  • Blood biker
  • Carrying medical supplies or equipment
  • Collecting and delivering subscriptions


Free breakdown cover for the NHS

Please note that all Bennetts motorcycle insurance customers working for the NHS have free breakdown cover with immediate effect..

There's no need to call us to add this to your policy; if you do need to use the breakdown cover, please just call our breakdown number listed on our Contact Us page to reach the RAC.

Am I still covered if I ride during lockdown?
Your insurance with Bennetts is still valid while you’re out on the road, but we urge everyone to follow the guidelines that the government have put in place.

What if I’m suffering from financial hardship?
We appreciate that during the time of the coronavirus lockdown that some customers could find themselves in financial difficulty. When it comes to your motorcycle insurance, we will do everything we can to support you. Don’t be over concerned, please get in touch to talk us.

Do I need insurance if I’m just at home?
It isn’t just about riding, Comprehensive policies will cover your bike if it is stolen or damaged by fire, accidental or malicious damage, with Third Party Fire & Theft (TPFT) policies covering if your bike is stolen or damaged by fire.
