Marc Marquez will start on pole position for the 2015 British Grand Prix after annihilating the pole position lap record twice at Silverstone this afternoon.
The Spaniard broke the record (2’00.691)with his first flying lap of 2’00.234 before going on to shatter it during his second run with a lap time of 2’00.234 to comfortably take pole ahead of Yamaha’s Jorge Lorenzo.
Dani Pedrosa took third aboard the second Repsol Honda, ahead of Valentino Rossi who jumped from sixth fastest in the closing stages to secure one of his better qualifying positions of the season.
Pol Espargaro and Bradley Smith complete an all-Yamaha second row with Scott Redding enjoying his second-best qualifying of the year to lead the third row in seventh.
Cal Crutchlow and Andrea Iannone complete row three ahead of Aleix Espargaro, Yonny Hernandez and Andrea Dovizioso.
