Bennetts BikeSocial motorcycle training partner Shires is hosting a FREE ‘try ride day’, where anyone can have a go on a 125cc motorcycle for just a £5 donation to the Derbyshire, Leicestershire and Rutland Air Ambulance. They’ll even lend you all the kit! You don’t need any experience, you just have to be at least 16 with a minimum of a provisional driving licence.

It’s happening on Saturday 11th and Sunday 12th March '23 at the site in Beumont Leys, Leicestershire and Shires will supply everything you need to take part:

  • Motorcycle: Supplied FREE

  • Jacket: Supplied FREE

  • Helmet: Supplied FREE

  • Gloves: Supplied FREE

Plus of course you’ll get all the tuition that’s required to give motorcycling a go for the first time. We’d recommend you wear a pair of jeans and ideally some ankle-height boots, though trainers are okay. No flip-flops!

Everybody who has a go will get a sample of what it’s like to ride a motorbike under full instruction, from a brilliant team of highly qualified DSA instructors in a controlled environment. All for just a £5 donation to an extremely worthy cause.

As well as being a leading motorcycle training school for CBT (Compulsory Basic Training) to DAS (Direct Access to a full licence), Shires hosts our superb Bennetts Rider Confidence Days, which focus on developing riders’ understanding of machine control through a combination of ‘classroom’ theory sessions and practical exercises. These courses can benefit motorcyclists of all ages and abilities, and we offer them at unmissable subsidised rates.
