Honda VFR 1200

Andy McKenna got in touch with us on Facebook to ask about vibrations through the seat on his Honda VFR 1200. We put his question to one of our experts and here you can see their response!

ANDY ASKS:

My HondaVFR 1200 2012 has a vibration through the seat. Is this a common fault with the bike? Will a gel seat sort it?

OUR EXPERT ANSWERS:

Yes, VFR12s do vibrate. Some worse than others and the first models were particular prone. A gel seat might cure it but not guaranteed. Try asking other owners on forums what their opinion is. At the next service interval ask the service manager if he could get the technician to check the torque settings of the engine mounts – simply undoing and tightening back to the manual’s specification could make a difference.
