Motorcycle clothing heavyweight Alpinestars release new winter touring/adventure riding suit, the Yokohama Drystar.
Alpinestars have long been the go to brand for those wanting high quality, dependable riding gear. Now the Italian company continues that tradition of innovation and style with the Yokohama winter riding suit.
Yokohama Drystar Jacket
The Yokohama Drystar Jacket is a multi-material, laminated outer shell that ensures the rider benefits from protection in the event of a spill without sacrificing any wet weather and wind protection. For added visibility the jacket includes reflective sections on front rear and sleeves. While Alpinestars’ Drystar membrane is said to provide 100% waterproof performance. For added comfort the chest and arms feature zippered air intakes and outlets on the riders back to aid ventilation and rider comfort. Full CE shoulder and elbow protection is fitted and back and chest protector compartments can be used in conjunction with Alpinestars Nucleon chest and back protectors, these are available separately.
To keep you warm the coat features a removable thermal liner that means the jacket can take on the coldest of winter rides and milder trips. The jacket features a high collar that is designed with a comfortable mesh liner to keep any draughts and drips away from the rider.
Alpinestars have created ingenious waterproof pockets on the front of the jacket that include a seal over the zip to keep your belongings safe and dry, a real plus when riding all year round. The Yokohama Jacket can be attached to a range of jackets by an internal zipper for added safety and warmth.
Yokohama Drystar Pants
As with the Yokohama Jacket, the pants feature the same multi-material outer and Drystar membrane, but also include extra strategically placed abrasion and tear resistant sections for added durability. To aid comfort on long rides the pants have pre-curved legs and an articulated knee to provide high levels of comfort. There are stretch panels on crotch and knee, plus an extensive stretch panel on lower back section which enhances freedom of movement. Adding to the pants all round capability the liner is removeable for warmer conditions and can be used with a range of Alpinestars’ textiles thanks to the full circumference internal zipper.
The hips are protected with tapered PE inserts which can be upgraded to Alpinestars’ Nucleon protectors which are available separately. Velcro leg and waist adjusters are included to enhance comfort and fit while extended zippered boot gussets (ankle zips) ensure a secure and tight seal around riding boots.
The Yokohama Drystar Jacket is available for £369.99, sizes S-4XL
The Yokohama Drystar Pants are available for £249.99, sizes S-4XL
The Yokohama Drystar suit will be available in the new year from all Alpinestars retailers.
