Honda's new CB125F

The latest generation of Honda’s entry-level CB125F will make its European debut at Motorcycle Live next week having undergone significant styling changes for 2015.

Honda say the CB125F has been ‘injected with streetfighter attitude’ to bring it in line with its larger siblings, the twin cylinder CB500F and the four-cylinder CB650F.

The bike gets an all-new steel frame, six spoke 18-inch wheels (up from 17inch) and a number of design changes such as a compact nose cowl and clear indicator lenses.

The bike’s new air-cooled 124.7cc engine gets a revised cylinder head for 2015 and the addition of a balancer shaft to neutralise vibration. The motor produces a modest 10.5bhp, down from the 11.1bhp produced by the current model. However, Honda says the numbers are only half the story: “Focus of the engineering team was around the powerplant’s real-world user friendliness – in other words, strong low and mid-range torque, with excellent throttle response for smart acceleration from a standstill in urban riding. The engine’s pick up and throttle response is noticeably stronger.”

The entry level model weighs in at just 128 kilos with a seat height of 775mm, perfect for the shorter rider.

It’ll be available early next year and comes in Yellow, Blue, White and Red.
