BMW's R1200 GS is the leading adventure bike

Thinking of buying a big adventure bike, which one BMW R1200 GS, Ducati Multistrada Granturismo, or Suzuki V-Strom 1000 adventure?

Which one do you like? Ok, it’s like this. They’re all good machines in their own right. The Bee-Emm is tried and trusted and the Adventure version (wire-spoked wheels as standard) can climb mountains. BMW bikes have excellent resale values. The Ducati is a different beast. Upright, comfortable and very bloody fast but it isn’t renowned for off-road experience although Ducati claims it will do the same as BMW. The Suzuki and Kawasaki versions are affordable look-a-likeys and very good workhorses but nowhere as near an all-rounder as the BMW, and their residual values aren’t strong. Have you looked at KTM’s offering? KTM owners will mostly be in agreement their bike is far superior in every way (especially off-road) to the BMW. Choice is a great thing.
