BENNETTS COMPLETES THE 1930 CHALLENGE

September saw the completion of the Corporate Social Responsibilities (CSR) latest mad plan: ‘Challenge 1930’- a month long, company-wide challenge to accumulate 1930 (the year Bennetts was founded) miles, in any way, shape or form. 36 Members of the Bennetts Peterborough Team ran, walked, cycled and swam to amass the whopping amount. With a £10 donation entry fee and some fun sweepstake style guesses along the way, the incentive raised over £400 for the motorcycle insurance specialists nominated charity, the Light Project Peterborough.

Over the course of the month, the Team really stepped up to ‘Challenge 1930’ racking up a huge 2433 miles. One particularly dedicated member of the team walked in excess of 70 miles a week! ‘Challenge 1930’ replaced the ‘Cycle Ride’ as a fundraising activity, with the aim to make the event not just for the elite athletes of the motorcycle insurance world. With that in mind the CSR team had inclusivity at the forefront of this challenge and organised regular ‘talk and walk’ sessions from the office at lunch throughout the month, really promoting the positive effect that being active has on your mental health, and encouraging the whole Team to sometimes just take a minute.

Without a doubt ‘Challenge 1930’ will be back in 2023, as it embodied #BetterTogether, encouraged teamwork and showed some hidden competitive sides! There is no rest for the wicked though. The CSR team are currently gearing up for the ‘Bennetts Spooktacular’- an afternoon packed of ghoulish going-ons and scary fun - watch this space!
