Notice of Privacy Policy changes: Effective August 27th 2025
We’ve updated our Privacy Policy to include a change in the way we will process your data to deliver more relevant and personalised advertising experiences across Paid Media.
What's changing?
We’ve updated the ‘Keeping you informed about our products and services’ section of our Privacy Policy to explain that it is in our legitimate interests to use certain customer data to:
• Show you tailored messages and promotions across Social Media platforms (such as Facebook and Instagram)
• Deliver targeted advertising through Google Ads and other paid advertising channels
• Help us identify users with similar characteristics and interests.
These changes will come into effect on Wednesday 27th August 2025.
What does this mean for you?
We may use data you’ve shared with us—like your email address, mobile number and through your behaviour and interactions with Bennetts BikeSocial—to create custom audiences. This helps us ensure that:
• You see ads that are relevant to your interests, recent purchases, or browsing activity.
• We avoid showing you offers or products you’ve already purchased or aren’t interested in.
How do we use platforms like Facebook and Google?
We may share hashed (securely encrypted) versions of your email address with:
• Facebook/Meta: to create Custom Audiences and show you relevant ads on Facebook, Instagram, and Meta’s ad network.
• Google Ads: to match your activity or profile and display relevant ads when you browse Google, YouTube, or partner sites. This data is not sold to third parties and is used to serve advertising from us, based on your interactions with our brand.
• To create ‘lookalike’ audiences: These platforms use your data to identify users with similar characteristics and interests, allowing us to show relevant ads to people who may be interested in our services.
Managing your ad preferences
You can control the advertisers that you see and how your data is used for advertising by adjusting your preferences in the relevant platform.
On Facebook/Meta: Visit your Facebook Ad Preferences
On Google: Go to Google Ad Settings
Want to opt out entirely?
If you'd prefer not to be included in any form of personalised advertising through these platforms, you can opt out at any time by Completing this form in the Online Service Centre.
We're committed to using your data responsibly and transparently. These updates help ensure you receive the most relevant content—while maintaining full control over your privacy preferences.
You can find out more information about how we process your data on our Privacy Policy, and Custom Audiences page.
