Say the words ‘Motorcyclists’ and ‘NHS Blood and Transplant’ together and the images which spring to mind aren’t always happy ones.
Anyone in the community can need blood or organs throughout their life. And sometimes accidents can happen but the influence of motorcyclists doesn’t end there; because volunteer motorcyclists have been undertaking a special role for NHS Blood and Transplant.

Freewheelers Emergency Voluntary Service provide out of hours Emergency Courier Services for the NHS. They make sure that Blood and Organs get where they need to go.
And the facts don’t end there.
Did you know that out of all the people eligible to give blood, only 4% actually do?
Or that every time you donate blood, your blood gets split into 3 component parts and so can help save or improve 3 peoples lives each time?
And finally that by registering with us we’ll send you details for all blood donation sessions near to your home or workplace?
Whether you ride a
Harley Davidson Knucklehead, a Norton CS1, a
Kawasaki Z1 or any old bike, you’re a member of a special club.
A rider can’t explain what’s so great about riding a motorcycle to someone who doesn’t. It’s a lot like being a blood donor.
Like riding a bike, you can’t explain how great you’ll feel after donating until you try it. In the space of 5-15 minutes (the donation time) you’ll know that you’ve helped save or improve 3 lives.
It’s a feeling as exhilarating as the open road – and you get some tea and biscuits at the end of it!
If you’re interested in becoming a blood donor or want more information then call 0300 123 23 23 or log onto www.blood.co.uk for more details. labels: posted by Bennetts @ 12:00
