Scott Redding has completed his first laps aboard his 2016 MotoGP machine this morning, making his debut with the Octo Pramac Racing team at Valencia.
Having posted pictures of his new steed on Twitter overnight, Redding was one of the first riders out as testing got underway in the sunshine at the Ricardo Tormo circuit just a day after the 2015 World Championship came to its dramatic conclusion.
Riding the GP15 Dovizioso campaigned this year, the 22-year-old has completed 15 laps so far with a fastest time of 1’33.030, which is less than a tenth slower than his fastest lap of Sunday’s race on the Honda.
It’s not just a new bike the Briton has to contend with, with today’s test marking the start of the 2016 season including the introduction of spec electronics and Michelin tyres.
After 90 minutes of testing, Dani Pedrosa is fastest on the timesheets with a time of 1’31.731, which is three tenths slower than the fastest race lap on Sunday.
