Peter Hickman has been forced to sit out of Spanish testing this week due to a delay in receiving parts for his S 1000 RR.
The RAF Reserves BMW rider had hoped to get some laps in with peers at Cartagena this week, but it now looks like he’ll have to wait until Monday to get his first ride on the 2015 BMW, and even then he expects it to be a stock bike.
“We were meant to be testing here but the team’s had quite a few delays with some of the parts they are after so I’m sat watching at the minute.” Hickman said talking to Bike Social at Cartagena.
MORE FROM TESTING
“Fingers crossed in the next few days we’ll get a bike out here and I’ll be able to put some laps in. It’s looking like we might be going to Almeria at the beginning of next week, at least just to do something – it’ll probably be on a stocker or something like that. At least I’ll get some mileage in on the new bike and see what it’s all about and then when I get back to the UK we can get straight back out on the superbike.”
Hickman will spend a second season with the RAF Reserves team in 2015 as they switch from Honda to BMW machinery, he’ll also ride with them at this year’s big three International Road Races.
