WSBK provisional calendar for 2013 announced

Posted: 09 Oct 2012

The FIM have issued the provisional calendar for the WSBK championship for 2013, however, don’t book your flights just yet. There is still one of the June events left to be confirmed and Portimao, the track we all know is in financial trouble, is ‘subject to contract’.

Following the lead from the brand new Russian round at Moscow Raceway in 2012, the championship will be heading to Buddh circuit in India for the first time ever in 2013. This is great news for the series, and further emphasises its international status. Fans in India will even have a team to root for with team-mates Dan Linfoot and Florian Marino competing in the Supersport 600 class under the direction of Indian-run, MSD R-N Racing.

Other significant changes to the calendar include the addition of MotoGP favourite circuit, Jerez in Spain, as the final round of the year and the return of Laguna Seca, which replaces Miller Motorsports Park as the American round of the championship.

24 February – Phillip Island, Australia
10 March – Buddh Circuit, India
7 April – Aragon, Spain
28 April – Assen, The Netherlands
12 May – Monza, Italy
26 May – Donington, UK

21 July – Moscow Raceway, Russia
