Another win for Checa 
Carlos Checa has won the opening race of the UK round of the 2011 World Superbike Championship at Silverstone. After taking the lead on lap seven, the Spaniard appeared unbeatable – his victory restoring his overall points advantage.  
Irishman Eugene Laverty rode to a comfortable second place finish in race one, while Marco Melandri’s hard work was also rewarded with another third place finish. 

Another double for Checa
Carlos Checa has achieved his tenth World Superbike Championship victory of the 2011 season at Silverstone. The determined Spaniard took the lead on lap seven and maintained his position until the chequered flag. 

Eugene Laverty settled for another second place finish at the UK circuit, while Marco Melandri completed the race two podium in third position.
