Rea secures seventh victory in The Netherlands
Jonathan Rea claimed a third consecutive win at Assen after a hard-fought battle with Max Biaggi and Carlos Checa.

After strong starts, Rea and Biaggi settled into their positions quite quickly, leaving Checa, Tom Sykes and Eugene Laverty to battle it out for third place. However, Checa’s determination shone through as he was able to seal the deal for the last podium by the chequered flag.

Checa defeats Biaggi in his fourth Superbike win
Despite leading the charge for the majority of the race, Carlos Checa let his form slip towards the end of race two at Assen, giving Max Biaggi a fighting chance for the top step of the podium. However, seeing the victory slip away, Checa re-launched his attack with just one lap remaining, and overtook Biaggi to clinch those all-important championship points.

After struggling to keep up with the duo, Assen race one winner Jonathan Rea settled for third podium – but more vital points to add to his championship tally.
