Lorenzo wins at Mugello

Current MotoGP leader Jorge Lorenzo strengthened his hold on the championship this weekend at Mugello. The Spaniard delivered a dominating performance at the Italian circuit – winning the race by more than five seconds from nearest rival Dani Pedrosa.

While Lorenzo lead the event from start to finish, the battle for third place raged on between Tech 3 Yamaha’s Andrea Dovizioso and rookie rider Stefan Bradl. LCR Honda Bradl impressed the spectators by holding on to third place for some of the race, but slipped back to fourth following a challenge by the more experienced Dovisioso.

Meanwhile, multiple MotoGP Champion Valentino Rossi finished fifth at his home round, while Bennetts-supported Cal Crutchlow clinched another superb sixth place at the chequered flag, despite a relatively poor start from the grid.
