Lorenzo back on form in Italy

Jorge Lorenzo has clinched a superb victory in this weekend’s Italian Grand Prix at Mugello. The reigning world champion spent the first half of the race battling with Andrea Dovizioso for second place – until he found himself in prime position to challenge front man Casey Stoner.

Dovizioso also went on to pass a frustrated Stoner at the beginning of the last lap, meaning the world championship leader could only settle for third place at the chequered flag.

Bennetts-supported Cal Crutchlow was the only rider to not finish this weekend’s race. The Englishman was forced to retire to the pits with front tyre problems.
