Dominant performance from Lorenzo

Jorge Lorenzo was back on the top step of the podium at Misano this weekend – his third win of the 2011 series.

Lorenzo took the holeshot and maintained his lead throughout the race – finishing more than seven seconds ahead of second placed Dani Pedrosa. An exhausted Casey Stoner, the current championship leader, was rewarded with the third step of the podium.

Meanwhile, local rider Valentino Rossi had a good start, but had to settle for a lowly seventh placing at the chequered flag.
