Casey cruises to victory

Reigning MotoGP Champion Casey Stoner has cruised to another superb victory at Laguna Seca this weekend. The Australian rider, who recently announced he would be retiring from racing after the 2012 season, clinched his fourth 2012 win at the US circuit after passing current championship leader Jorge Lorenzo on lap 22.

Although Lorenzo still leads the series, Stoner’s victory means that his points’ advantage has been narrowed to 32 ahead of the Indianapolis GP in August.

Meanwhile, Dani Pedrosa scooped the third step of the podium ahead of Andrea Dovizioso in fourth and Bennetts-supported Cal Crutchlow in fifth.
