Joe Francis extended his lead in the British Motostar championship this weekend as he took his second win of the season at Snetterton. The Chester teenager now holds a twenty-point lead over nearest rival Tarran MacKenzie
Francis started third on the grid and fought for the lead throughout the race, as South African Jordan Weaving fell from his KTM it was MacKenzie and Francis left fighting for the lead, with Francis coming out on top by just over two tenths of a second.
“The race was good all the way through”, said Francis after the race. “It was close and I really enjoyed it. It was great to come out on top in such a close battle. The weather was a big factor in the race because of how the tyres started to lose a bit of grid and the heat made it physically hard, that's why I have stepped up my fitness.”
“In terms of the championship, there isn’t really a plan at this point because we’re only half way through, but we are just going to try and win and finish as many races as we can.”
I really enjoy Brands Hatch and Oulton Park so I can’t wait to race there and try and battle up the front.”
