Registrations continue to rise in September

Honda's PCX125 was the best selling bike in September

The introduction of the new ’64 plate’ registration last month gave motorcycle sales a strong boost. 12,623 new bikes were registered in the UK in September, marking a 6.2% increase on the same period last year.

The first nine months of 2014 have seen a positive increase in the sale of new motorcycles, so far 83,484 new bikes have been registered for the road this year, that’s a 10.2% rise from the same point twelve months ago.

Honda’s best-selling PCX 125 scooter topped registration figures once again in September; closely followed by the Japanese marque’s CBF 125 M. BMW again leads the 1000cc+ category with their R1200 GS Adventure and the R 1200 RT.

With the first 2015 model ranges expected to hit dealerships in the next few weeks, registration stats over the next couple of months should make an interesting read.
