Shark has unveiled its extended range of helmets for 2014 with three new lids available soon.  Your first chance to see, touch or try them will be at the Shark stand at Motorcycle Live at the NEC which runs from 23rd November – 1st December.  Here’s a brief overview:

• Explore-R: available from January 2014, RRP £319.99

Looks like a mix between a road, motocross and a BMX helmet and could be worn for all purposes because of its removable visor, peak and goggles. The helmet also features a ‘carbon skin’ overlay which “adds to the protection and shock absorption”.  It’s lightweight, has a retractable wind shield within the chin cover, comes in 2 shell sizes but just the one colour (carbon fibre) and has a washable lining.

• Vantime: available from January 2014, RRP £169.99

Shark says it’s “the first naturally urban helmet” but despite looking like a flip-front, it isn’t.  It does have a built-in sun visor, washable lining, space for Shark’s own Bluetooth system, SharkTooth and is available in two shell sizes and five colours; black, white, silver, matt black and matt black with anthracite blue detail

• Heritage: available from December 2013, RRP £199.99

An open-face, cafe-racer style helmet equipped with a manual visor, double D-ring strap and designed with the glasses-wear in mind.  There’s space for SharkTooth, it has a washable lining, comes in two shell sizes and also available in five colours; black, white, silver, matt black and white with a fetching skull and red star design on the rear.
