A specially-designed Honda Fireblade CBR1000RR tribute to Marco Simoncelli raised an incredible £40,333 (50,110 Euros) for the Marco SImoncelli foundation when it was sold on ebay last night.
The one-off ‘Super-Sic’ tribute Honda Fireblade was given to the Marco Simoncelli Foundation by HRC (Honda Racing Corporation), and more than 190 people bid on it.
It has a unique paint scheme designed by the man responsible for all of Rossi and Simoncelli’s helmets - legendary helmet designer Aldo Drudi.
The bike made a special appearance at the Italian MotoGP last weekend, a circuit which was renamed Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli after the legendary Italian rider in June.
Misano was the home circuit of the Italian MotoGP rider who was tragically killed following a racing incident at Sepang, Malaysia last year.
