He's bought three CBR600s, two Ducati Monsters, several winter hacks, three off-roaders, a supermoto pit bike, a Honda Vision 50 and built his own custom XSR700.

Bennetts – BikeSocial’s parent company – has introduced a travel insurance policy perfectly suited to bikers, by offering worldwide cover on any motorcycle. You can now ride safe in the knowledge that you’re protected on everything from the Trans European Trail to the Nürburgring.

Most of us book travel insurance at some point in order to cover our holiday, but the great thing about Bennetts’ bespoke policy is that you can take out a full 12 months of cover for every trip both you and your family make, whether on the bike or not.

How to choose the best travel insurance

Any insurance policy needs to suit your own needs, but there’s a good chance that Bennetts Travel Insurance could be able to cover you when you’re riding almost anywhere in the world, while at the same time offering support for your family, whether on the beach, skiing or snowboarding, or at Disneyland.

You can choose how long you want cover – single trip or a full year – and existing medical conditions can be considered. You can add members of your family to a policy, regardless of whether they’ll be on the bike with you, and you can get cover while riding any motorcycle (as long as it’s owned, borrowed or rented by you) for a period of up to 14 days in any one trip.

As you’d expect, cover with Bennetts Travel Insurance includes the following:

  • Medical expenses (excluding private medical care)
  • Personal possessions and your luggage (including if it’s delayed)
  • Trip cancellation
  • Travel disruptions and missed departures
  • Lost passport and other documents
  • Having to cut your holiday short

But in addition, this insurance policy acknowledges the needs of motorcyclists with:

  • Motorcycle clothing cover
  • Motorcycle accessories cover

While the standard policies can offer you protection regardless of what – or where – you’re riding, optional extras include cover for:

  • Riding enduro bikes
  • Riding on a track day
  • Trail riding
  • Pace making
  • Riding on the Nürburgring Nordschleife

Travel insurance for your whole family, on any holiday

The Bennetts Travel Insurance policy runs alongside your existing motorcycle insurance cover, to ensure your holidays go without a hitch. Whether you’re touring in the UK, Europe or beyond, travel insurance covers the incidents that can ruin a trip; delays, illness or an accident. Remember that you can take out an annual policy to cover your motorcycle touring, as well as your family holidays when the bike’s left at home.

Worldwide cover is available to include or exclude Canada, the Caribbean, Mexico and the USA – just choose the policy that suits you best. The only places that Bennetts is unable to cover are Afghanistan, Liberia and the Sudan.
