marcpotter Tested every new bike since 1994, loves anything on two wheels, Bike Social boss, Potski to his mates. Recently discovered elbow-down riding - likely to end in tears.

Some of the coolest images so far from the Dakar are from Special Stage 5 which saw the riders on a 274km trek from Arequip to Arica, including a 174km special stage over the mountains of Peru.

These images, mostly from KTM Racing, are some of the best we’ve seen so we figured you might want to see them, and we threw in a picture of honorary Brit and one of our mate Simon Pavey for good measure.

Yamaha’s David Casteau leads. Brit Stan Watt is in 33rd position, Tim Forman is in 37th, Lyndon Poskitt is 58th, James West is 68th and honorary Brit Simon Pavey ( an Aussie who runs the BMW off-road school and lives in Wales) is 78th. Come on you boys, heroes one and all.

Thanks to Maragni M, KTM Images and Simon Pavey for the images.
