The Bike Experience is a charity that teaches motorcyclists who have been disabled how they can ride again, through the provision of an adapted and modified motorcycle which allow them to ride in a safe environment using a logical step-by-step process.
Bennetts has proudly supported the events at Donington Park for two years and its staff also volunteer to lend a hand on days throughout the year. In many cases, the team work with riders who are on a bike for the first time since they have been in accidents and often feel that they have witnessed life changing moments.
In March 2003, founder Talan Skeels-Piggins, was involved in a motorcycle accident which left him paralysed from the chest down and the belief he would never ride a motorcycle again.
Eight years later Talan was back riding a motorbike on UK track days and felt the importance of teaching others how to do the same.
The Bike Experience was formed in April 2011, as there was no project in existence that taught disabled motorcyclists how to ride.
