Bennetts Modifications and Accessories
At Bennetts, it’s our responsibility as a broker to ask the right questions about you and your bike, including its modifications and accessories. This enables our panel of insurers to provide you with an accurate quote and ultimately, the best cover for your bike.
We understand that specifying every modification and accessory (mods) can seem a bit much; however it is normal practise within the industry to collect these details. Whilst mods are road legal changes to your bike, they can enhance performance, value or theft appeal, which is why insurers need to know about them.
Modifications accepted by Bennetts as standard
The mods now accepted as standard by Bennetts are:
- Disability Adapted
- Air Filter Changes
- Bar Ends
- Braided Hose
- Decals/Stickers (unless Race Replica)
- Grippers
- Heated Grips
- Huggers
- Lights/Indicators/Mirrors
- Scot Oilers
- Screen Changes
- Seat Replacement
- Seat Cowl/Single Seat Units
- Sissy Bars (Long Back Rest)
- Tail Tidy
- Tank Pads
So now you can have all the above changes, plus a further three mods from the non-standard list.
Declaring road legal non-standard modifications
If you have any further road legal mods to declare, please tell us at the start of your policy and be sure to tell us if you add any during the life of your Bennetts policy. To make this simpler, we’ve categorised this into Customised, Performance and Practical, which you can view by clicking here.
If you have more than three non-standard mods you can still be insured by our panel of insurers, just call us on 0800 056 3843.*
Bennetts Insures Like for Like
What’s more if in the unfortunate circumstance you have to make a claim, our mods cover is to replace/repair, not only your bike like-for-like, but also all of your standard and declared mods too.
Your bike is your pride and joy and your mods make it every bit as unique as you are, so with Bennetts bike insurance cover, you can rest assured you and they are adequately covered.
